This certification was issued by the Epilepsy Foundation of America, and it covers what to do in the event of a seizure. I’ve recently been exposed to several people that have epilepsy, and I was shocked at how common it can be in the public. Many students suffer with seizures, and some do not yet have a diagnosis to explain them. This certificate gave me the means to recognize what a seizure is and what to do if one happens. I feel better prepared having this training while in the schools in case there is an event while I’m there. This certification also adds an asset to my professional portfolio.
