My timeline of educational influences meant a lot to me because I got to think back to how my family has influenced a lot of my journey in education and life in general but also how teachers are such an important role in students lives. My grandmother was always a huge influence to me growing up and she had been a teacher for many years both in the classroom and the school library. My mom was an influence on me because of her resilience in life and the situations that she has persevered through. With my extensive (and unfortunately, not always lucrative) education, my teachers clearly became what I can only describe as effectors in my education and the paths that I’ve chosen throughout my life. Those influences clearly became positive and negative while reflecting on this: I realized just how influential they have been on me.
