This assignment completely aligned with everything that I believe in: Getting kids outside even if it’s just a change of scenery other than the classroom.
People, and students are included in that, need to get away from the mundane and try new things. It sparks their learning and sense of adventure! Doing this research and presentation made me appreciate what we have at our disposal throughout our city and the vast experiences that children can have if given the opportunity. Whether it’s climbing a wall at the climbing gym to canoeing out on a lake, children learn the best when they are happy and have the time to explore their surroundings. I believe that as an educator, it is my duty to ensure that my students get the chance to experience things that they may not outside of school.
